Obsessive behaviors and thought "traps" like these need to be stopped in their tracks. You need to identify the "red flags" and then mentally stop yourself from engaging in this behavior. Losing sleep over things like this is not healthy.

I stress a lot, do you?
by free2beme ini am a heavy heavy stresser and think about the most small of concerns.
i sometimes sit at night not sleeping, because the price of gas is going up or worrying if my work will be there next year.
always worried about if the bills will be paid and if the gas is on to long, and if we need to think about our diet more.

Free, the more you post the more I think you need help. This isn't meant in a mean way, I'm quite serious. You being in control of your life is an illusion. Maybe a common illusion, but an illusion none the less. I'm afraid if you don't take it upon yourself to curb this vice, life will deal you a lesson that you may well find painful.
Trying to control the world is not living in harmony with the world. -

How do you feel about people on government assistence?
by free2beme infor a long time, before working with people in this situation, i would have answered this question with .... "i feel for them and i know how degrading it must be, to come to this point in their life to have to depend on the government to sustain them" .
... once i got up close and personal with these people, i have learned that my answer only applies to a small group of those on government assistance.
well from my experience, those on government assistance are more often about taking advantage of the system, then they are about actually being in need of help.

I always find it amusing which topics you guys get all morally superior over.
One of the most popular myths is that welfare is a serious drag on the economy. Actually, it barely registers on the radar screen. The most vilified form of welfare is Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC), which allegedly gives poor mothers a financial incentive to avoid work and have babies. Yet in 2000, AFDC formed only 1 percent of the combined federal and state budgets. Food stamps also took up 1 percent. WOW! A whopping 2% of your tax dollars went to support "poor folk".
Why don't you bitch about corporate welfare which consumed almost 5% of the budget hmmmm?
That's right, you can't feel smug about not taking assistance from the government. Carry on! -

Sounds like you need some professional mental help. OCD (Obsessive / Compulsive Disorder) does have treatments. Also so does runaway anxiety.

Anyone touting that the US should bomb Iran, should go back and read the history of Iran, and the involvement already of the US and England.
Also, for those of you pukes that gleefully think we can "kick their asses", maybe you ought to stop and think of the 10,000's to 100,000's of deaths on both sides this would cause. Stow that red neck, hillbilly, bravado unless you are in the military currently and will actually have to put your balls on the line for such bravado.
Why does Iran want "the bomb"? Iraq didn't have the bomb.....look at them. North Korea does have the bomb....look at them. Have bomb = no invasion. No bomb = McDonalds & Starbucks on every corner. What would you do if you were Prez of Iran? -

Dump all refined food products. No white flour. No white sugar. No processed oils and foods. Nadda, none, zip, zero. You'll feel much better in about 30 days.

That reminds me.....JT, we were talking about zen, karma, and other stuff, then "the big news" thread hit and I got sidetracked. I'll have to dig that up again.
Green, to answer your question, yes I have found my spirituality in the eastern religious context. I prefer Buddhism and Taoism. Shintoism was an interesting study however, just not for me. With Hinduism I have a 10,000 foot overview of it, but not a ultra-deep understanding.
